A first great result of the Con il SUD Foundation for Castelbuono: in just six months the works for the complete structural and architectural recovery of the former church of the Crucifix to be used as a Youth Home were completed. The initiative, totally financed by the CON IL SUD Foundation (with private capital), includes, in addition to the functional and technological adaptation already carried out, also the furnishings and equipment necessary to carry out the activities envisaged in the agreement signed between the Parish – Matrice New – and the Municipality.
The new cultural infrastructure, which preserves and enhances the architectural connotations of the original church, will be managed by the cultural associations of Castelbuono, led by the association Glenn Gould, according to a regulation currently being drawn up. The installation of the equipment and furnishings will soon be followed by the start of the activities.

The works – under the careful direction of the architect Rosario Polisi – were carried out by artisans from Castelbuono who, with authentic civic spirit and large doses of «castelbuonesità», understood the social nature of the intervention and wanted to create some of the finishing processes that had originally been excluded due to the scarcity of the financing.
